Eifelverein - Mosel-Our-Weg 5. Etappe
Kyllburg
This main hiking trail of the Eifelverein is named after the two rivers it connects.
The Mosel-Our-Weg (HWW no. 16) starts in Alf and runs over the heights of the Kondelwald forest down to Bad Bertrich in the Ueßbachtal valley, from here ascending to the southern part of the central Vulkaneifel with Manderscheid and the Mosenberg. It continues over the plateaus of the West Eifel, crossing the valleys of the Lieser, Salm, Kyll, Nims and Prüm, into the Our valley. At the Bivelser Steg over the Our reservoir, the German-Luxembourg border. On the Nat'Our Route 5 along the elongated Our reservoir, in the Luxembourg countryside with a crossing on the bridge of the N 10, to Vianden.
Between Manderscheid and Brecht, the Ardennes-Eifel circular route is included, between Kyllburg and Bivels the Meuse-Rhine path, southern route.
Kyllburg-Bitburg (12.3 km)
Route: Kyllburg - Wilsecker Linde - Wilsecker - Erdorf - Matzen - Bitburg.
Total route: Alf (Mosel)-Ourstausee / Bivelser Steg -Vianden (115 km).
The entire route of 115 km is divided into 8 daily stages, which can, however, be varied.
1st stage: Alf - Bad Bertrich (15.0 km)
Stage 2: Bad Bertrich - Laufeld (16.5 km)
3rd stage: Laufeld - Bettenfeld (12.1 km)
Stage 4: Bettenfeld - Kyllburg (16.1 km)
Stage 5: Kyllburg - Bitburg (12.3 km)
Stage 6: Bitburg - Weidingen (15.2 km)
Stage 7: Weidingen - Neuerburg (9.1 km)
Stage 8: Neuerburg - Bivelser Steg - Vianden (18.7 km)
