Biersdorf reservoir

Glistening in the sunshine in the unspoilt countryside of the Prüm Valley close to Bitburg, is the Biersdorf reservoir. The beautiful wooded hiking paths in this area attract keen walkers all year round. The hotels overlooking the lake provide an ideal holiday retreat, with excellent spa and sports facilities and fine dining in cosy restaurants. In the summer months the area around the lake becomes a hive of activity, its vast area a magnet for watersports fans and anglers. Just a short walk away are the delightfully romantic Hamm Castle and the medieval hermitage at Wiersdorf.

Dorint Route

The circular route is tarred on one section, the rest of the way is natural. It is possible to use a wheelchair from the kiosk to the dam wall, along the Dorint Hotel. This route is the smallest of the 3 Nordic Walking trails at the Bitburg reservoir and leads once around the Bitburg reservoir.
