Along the river valleys there are numerous cycling routes that have something for all levels. Leisure cyclists and families can enjoy the routes on the former railway lines that only have minor elevation. Sporty, ambitious cyclists can choose one of the routes that leaves the valley and leads over the hills of the Eifel. Those who want to be a bit more comfortable can ascend on the e-bike: these electric bikes can be hired at the tourist information desk in Bitburg.

Five Valley Tour

The German-Luxembourg five valley tour, which runs along the little rivers Nims, Sauer, Prüm, Kyll and the Moselle, offers perfect cycling pleasure for a bike trip. The well-maintained cycle paths lead you through beautiful landscapes and interesting spots. Next to the beer town of Bitburg and the Roman city of Trier, Germany's oldest city with its numerous monuments and shops, the tour passes through many small towns with a rural atmosphere. Part of the route is on the Luxembourg side of the Sauer Valley where the town of Echternach offers a detour.
