With the Bigband Spuerkeess-Bankers in Concert, well-known and beloved swing music comes to the stage of the Bedagarten. Founded in 1988 by some young musicians from the state bank and state savings bank, it has since steadily progressed musically. Today, the ensemble consists of 23 musicians who have devoted themselves to the band and the music with body and soul. Thanks to the many talents, an orchestra has emerged that performs at a high musical level.

The Bigband has played more than 400 concerts in Germany and abroad and has managed to impress everywhere.

For 10 years, the band has participated in the Travemünde Jazz Festival on Whitsun weekend and had the honor of performing a major evening concert at the Weilburg Castle Concerts in 2019 and 2023.

Great names of big band music, such as Count Basie, Buddy Rich, and Duke Ellington, as well as theme concerts like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, are part of the ambitious program of the Bankers. There have also been appearances on television.

Bankers in Concert will perform on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, starting at 7 PM on the stage in the Bedagarten. In case of inclement weather, the performance will take place in the festival hall of the House Beda. Admission is free.

The Summer Jazz Festival 2026 in Bedagarten is a joint event of the Jazz Initiative Eifel, the Cultural Community Bitburg, and the Dr. Hanns Simon Foundation.
