Bitburg
The Jazz Initiative Eifel continually surprises with unusual jazz offerings. This time it is a band with a very original name:
BMAD, also known as Boogie Music Against Depression, was founded in 2020 during the pandemic as a duo
to bring joy and to protect against depression. In 2023, BMAD expanded to a trio with Christian Ries on
piano and vocals with his distinctive voice, Paulo Simões on guitar, and Rob Schauls on drums.
BMAD thrills the audience with a captivating mix of boogie-woogie, blues, and timeless jazz classics as well as original compositions. Their distinctive sound shows clear influences
from esteemed musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Eddie Boyd, Jimmie Bell, Leroy Carr, John Len, Chatman (Memphis Slim),
Billie Holiday, Eroll Garner, Sammy Price, Blind John Davis, Champion Jack Dupree, Eleanora Fagan, Roosevelt Sykes, and Fats Waller, …
The Monday-Night Jazz takes place on Monday, November 2, 2026, starting at 8 PM in the Jazz Ballroom at the Bowling Center Bitburg, Charles-Lindbergh-Allee 5. Admission is free.
