This route is named after the Schankweiler Klause hermitage. It is a real hidden gem with its rich Baroque architecture. This tour could also accurately be described as a valley tour, since it offers a memorable impression of the Enz and Prüm valleys from different perspectives. It extends over picturesque, indented rock massifs and the typical orchard landscape that creates a magical picture in the spring when the trees are in blossom. As well as the hop fields, the fruit trees reflect the mild climate in the area.
The region also has something to offer visitors with an interest in history. Numerous pre- and early historical monuments stand as evidence of thousands of years of human settlement here. The Celts and Romans clearly felt very at home here, and even in those early times, they might also have enjoyed the wonderful panoramic views.
