Theaterstück
Jun 13, 2025 - Jun 14, 2025
Bitburg
Two special theater evenings are being hosted by both foundational courses in Performance Art from MSS 12 at St. Matthias School: a play about time travel, responsibility, and the question: What if we cannot undo what has happened? In a not-so-distant future, a single professor has achieved the unimaginable: he has built a time machine. With it, he intends to save the world – in reverse.
By making targeted interventions in the past, catastrophic developments are to be prevented: the melting of the poles, the unleashing of artificial intelligence, the fall of just societies, the use of biological weapons, and the commercialization of dangerous drugs.
However, every change in history brings new upheavals in the present. The seemingly good intentions spiral out of control. What began as a rescue mission turns into an ethical dilemma. The professor must confront the bitter truth: the past cannot be controlled. Only in the here and now lies our responsibility.
“Back to the Future XII” is a visually powerful, choral piece about technological hubris, collective memory, and the power to act in the present. 35 performers take the stage and embody a society that must reinvent itself between guilt and hope.
A theater evening that does not provide simple answers but highlights what this means for oneself. The clear message is: The future begins now.
Dates: Friday, 13.06. and Saturday, 14.06. at 7:00 PM at the House of Youth Bitburg, with another school performance on Monday, 16.06. The admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
