In the past, the train was valued, today the travel times are what matter. E-mail, E-car, E-goists. We continue as if there were no tomorrow. Because it's not the end of the day yet. The citizen sweetens his life with pie-in-the-sky.

The government is at a loss - the people are listless. Democracy is pulling up stakes and the farmer is on the move. The boomers retreat into shadows and the youth has no clue. We wait for the economic miracle and experience our blue phase. Some feel foreign in their own country, others act as if they were at home. The chancellor shakes hands, the people shake their heads. Not with us - but with whom then?

Humorless? Quite the opposite. The pepper mill has a cough for the spirit of the times. Because coughing is just the laughter that gets stuck in our throats.
