The double bass is the star in the jazz club
A highly interesting accent is set by the Jazz Initiative Eifel with the engagement of the Bastian Weinig Trio. With his current project "All About That Double Bass", Bastian Weinig places the double bass in the spotlight of the jazz trio.
The program emphasizes the versatility of this instrument while also connecting to the tradition of jazz standards.
The double bass is not only grounded in its function within the rhythm section but is also featured as a melody instrument, frequently showcased solo by Bastian Weinig. Thus, well-known themes resonate in an extraordinary manner that invites audience participation.
The "Bastian Weinig Standards Trio" shares a common passion for swing.
Bastian Weinig, who serves as the driving force behind the trio, is known for his exceptional virtuosity and his
musical interpretations. He is supported by two equally talented musicians who contribute the trio's sound with their instruments. Nikolaus Hering plays the piano and Max Jentzen plays the drums.
The music of the "Bastian Weinig Standards Trio" is accessible yet demanding, catchy but full of refined
colors - a true joy for jazz lovers.
The Monday-Night Jazz takes place on Monday, July 6, 2026, starting at 8 p.m. at the Jazz Ballroom in the Bowling Center Bitburg, Charles-Lindbergh-Allee 5. Free admission.
