ABO Konzert Jazz
Nov 24, 2025
Bitburg
Laurent Pierre began playing music at the age of ten and studied saxophone at the Conservatory of Music in Esch-sur-Alzette, at the Pétange Music School, and at the Conservatory of Music in the City of Luxembourg. He participated in various workshops in Belgium and Germany and completed several master classes, including with Jiggs Whigham, Rick Keller, and Peter Herbolzheimer. Laurent Pierre, known through various Luxembourgish bands, including the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra, is currently accompanied by Melvin Burger on trumpet. Melvin is not only a military musician but has also proven his skills in various big bands in the Greater Region. Together with one of the most dynamic rhythm groups in Luxembourg, consisting of Luca Sales on piano, Laurent Peckels on bass, and Michel Mootz on drums, they form an impressive ensemble. This quintet presents a fascinating mix of original compositions and newly interpreted jazz standards. Ten years after their first performance in 2011, the ensemble released their first album titled “Time to relax,” which was published in 2022.
The concert takes place in collaboration with the Jazz Initiative Eifel e.V.
