The Venn-Eifel-Mosel tour is the ideal way to get to know the diversity, special features and different landscapes of the Eifel.
River valleys, wide meadow landscapes, forests, hop fields, vineyards, orchards - the types of landscape are completely different, each with its own charm.
Cycling comfortably on former railroad lines and at the same time getting the good feeling of giving body and soul just the right amount of sport and exercise - that's what a day on the bike between the original moorland of the High Fens and the lovely Moselle is all about. A good starting point for an exploratory tour across the Eifel is Trier, where you can arrive by train. You quickly leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind you, first along the Moselle, then further along the Sauer towards Irrel and then along the Nims cycle path to the beer town of Bitburg. From there, the route descends into the Kyll valley, where small villages nestled in the valley exert a romantic charm. You can enjoy a picnic on the banks of the gently flowing Kyll, accompanied by the music of the birds in the forests and meadows. The route also touches the valleys of the other Eifel rivers Sauer, Prüm, Nims and Enz. The landscape changes again and again, with the volcanoes of the Eifel providing delightful contrasts. Finally, you reach the vastness of the East Belgian High Fens, an almost mystical region. The route is excellently signposted. Only very rarely does the cycle path run alongside a road; the route is mostly off the beaten track. Culinary delights are always available along the cycle path, sometimes even free mineral water, as in Gerolstein at the Helenenquelle spring. The Bitburger beer, Belgian waffles and fries, Moselle wine and Eifel fruit brandies are famous.
The multi-day cycle tour ends in Trier and is an unforgettable pleasure experience in the boundless green heart of Western Europe.
The "Fens-Eifel-Moselle" cycle tour is signposted with its own route logo.
ATTENTION
Due to the planned electrification of the Eifel route by Deutsche Bahn, the cycle path in the Kyll Valley will be closed at times and trains will be canceled.
For this reason, the tour between Trier and Bitburg does not run through the Kyll valley.
