As early as 2000 years ago, a small settlement was established on the Roman South-North Military Road (Lyon-Metz-Trier-Cologne), which subsequently developed into a center of craftsmanship.
The town of Bitburg had to endure many hardships as a result of the turmoil of war. The town was hit particularly hard on Christmas Eve 1944, when Bitburg was considered a "dead town" after a heavy bombing raid.
However, it was rebuilt and Bitburg's modern face has emerged over the last few decades.

Discover the interesting history of Bitburg, which has always been shaped by the military stationed here, with the Roman remains
or, for example, the world-famous Bitburg brewery. If you arrive with your own coach, the tour can also be combined.
In this case, the tour will also take you past the former American air base and on through the "Auf Merlick" industrial area, which, with its numerous car companies, characterizes the beer town of Bitburg.

After the bus tour, the tour continues on foot through the town center.

A visit to the Kolmeshöhe" cemetery of honor where German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and US President Ronald Reagan laid a wreath for the fallen soldiers of the Second World War in 1985.
