Delicious quark balls according to grandma's recipe
Nautzen - also known as Nuuzen or Mäuschen - are as much a part of the Eifel carnival as "Alaaf" and "Kamelle". Here we show you how to make this delicious sweet treat yourself.
Ingredients:
300 g flour
140 g sugar
250 g layered cheese/quark
4 eggs
1 sachet of baking powder
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
Oil for frying
Sugar for garnishing
Mix the ingredients together to form a dough and add flour until a viscous consistency is achieved. Heat the oil in a pan. Using two teaspoons, add the batter in batches to the hot oil and fry until the dough balls turn golden brown. Then remove from the pan with a ladle, drain and roll in sugar. Enjoy your meal!
