Tagesfahrt Historische Fachwerkstädtchen Monschau – Bad Münstereifel
Jewels of the Eifel
Morning
In the 18th century, several Eifel towns such as Monschau and Bad Münstereifel developed into economic powerhouses thanks to the cloth weaving industry.
Today,Monschau is a small tourist town with winding alleyways and slate-roofed half-timbered houses. The splendid patrician houses, e.g. the Red House - now a museum - or the craftsmen's market - formerly the cloth weavers' hall - are reminders of the heyday of cloth production.
