Description

The 17 km long circular hiking trail of the Southern Eifel Nature Park leads through the romantic Echtersbach Valley. It starts and ends in Wißmannsdorf. A highlight is the panoramic view of the picturesque Hamm Castle.


Hiking trail no. 22 is an approximately 17 km long circular hiking trail from/to Wißmannsdorf through the romantic Echtersbach Valley and the enchanting Hammer Büsch, a hillside forest that reveals a great view of the picturesque Hamm Castle. This late-medieval fortification from the 14th century is the largest of the still privately inhabited castles in the Eifel. It can be visited on request. 
This route runs parallel to the "Bitburger Brewery Route" (Nordic Walking) for a few kilometres near Biersdorf am See.
