Biersdorf am See - Hike "Wiersdorf

Circular hike from/to Biersdorf am See

Starting at the Bitburg reservoir, this circular hike leads through the community of Wiersdorf.

From the car park at the kiosk, the hike first takes you along the lakeside circular path to the dam wall. From there, continue left across the car park towards Wiersdorf. Keep left and walk through the village. 
If you like, you can take a look at the neat little chapel before heading uphill towards Biersdorf. 
At the top of the "Erzberg" you have the opportunity to visit the nature labyrinth from about June to October. This somewhat different maze consists of Igniscum - a plant from the knotweed family. Combined with the answers to riddles hidden in it, it's fun for the whole family. 
Then it's back down into the valley to the starting point. 
There is a kiosk at the start/end point. Food and drinks are available there. There is a children's playground and the opportunity to go for a ride in a pedal boat on the lake.
