Neuerburg, nestled in the narrow Enz Valley and surrounded by slate cliffs, is the perfect place for a climbing adventure.

The Neuerburg via ferrata takes a unique approach: The loop trail makes use of the existing hiking trail infrastructure and connects sections of the “Neuer-Burg-Weg” premium trail and a local hiking trail with climbing sections at seven selected rock faces, which offer spectacular views of the town.

What makes it special: These sections can also be bypassed on foot, so the concept appeals to both traditional hikers and climbing enthusiasts, who can explore the route together. This also makes it suitable for families with children.

The starting and ending point of the via ferrata is the newly redesigned market square in Neuerburg. The climbing sections pass by the Beilsturm, the town coat of arms, the former plague cemetery, the former railway tunnel, the Enz waterfalls with their historic mills, and, of course, the castle as the grand finale.

The via ferrata is freely accessible, but use is only permitted with professional climbing gear!

Climbing gear can be rented at the Neuerburg Tourist Information Center at Marktplatz No. 3. An online reservation is recommended.
