Warm light, delicious scents and a Christmassy atmosphere - you will find such magic on the 2nd Advent weekend (7/8/12/2024) in the “Adventliche Burgstraße” in Oberkail. Burgstraße is a street based on the former moated castle and Oberkail Castle. There are many historic buildings here that give the market its unmistakably homely flair. In the romantic ambience of barns, old buildings and Christmas market cottages, over 50 exhibitors offer unusual gift ideas and beautiful unique items made exclusively by hand using a wide variety of techniques.

The range on offer includes lovingly sewn items, felt objects, paper crafts, useful wooden items, delicacies from the kitchen, old linen rediscovered, decorations made from various materials and much more. In addition, food and drink stands invite you to linger. Enjoy typical Eifel specialties from the potato kitchen, tarte flambée, tasty treats from the Christmas roaster, as well as coffee, cakes and waffles. Look forward to the varied supporting program with various choirs and musical performances as well as performances by the Oberkailer elementary school and kindergarten. The “Wollbergwerk” spinning group will be demonstrating their skills on both days. Of course, St. Nicholas will visit the market and hand out small gifts to the children.
