Solo concert with the musician and violin maker Florian Negreanu in Bitburg

The Romanian-Dutch violinist and violist Florin Negreanu began playing the violin at the age of five. He completed his education in Romania and the Netherlands, where he obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at CODARTS Rotterdam, with a focus on solo violin and chamber music. Additionally, he studied Historical Performance Practice in the Master's program for Early Music at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.

Since 2022, Florin Negreanu has been working every summer for three to four weeks at the Altschuler Summer Music Institute in Italy, closely collaborating with Dr. Ayke Agus who is the long-time assistant of Jascha Heifetz. The focus of this artistic and educational work is the preservation and transmission of the great violin school of Leopold Auer, which continues to live on through Jascha Heifetz and other significant violinists of the 20th century.

In addition to his solo and chamber music activities, Florin Negreanu is active as a pedagogue and teaches violin and viola at the Bitburg-Prüm Music School. Furthermore, he is a violin maker and restorer, as well as the host of the “Alte Schule” in Schüller (Rhineland-Palatinate), an art and culture center that regularly hosts concerts and musical projects.
