Joe Wulf's Wonderful World of Christmas - Joe Wulf & Band

Solo trombonist Joe Wulf and his band present a breathtaking Christmas program featuring music from around the world. Wulf is one of the best-known musicians and bandleaders in his genre on the European jazz scene. This year, his Christmas revue—which he successfully launched 27 years ago—is being revived, taking the audience on an emotional journey through the enchanting world of Christmas carols. The top-notch band—consisting almost exclusively of professional musicians—performs arrangements that Wulf wrote specifically for this show. Well-known songs that are simply part of Christmas, as well as songs from the other side of the world, where Christmas is celebrated under a blazing sun, are thus presented in a whole new light. Swinging music blends with pulsating jazz rhythms, and traditional songs are given a fresh new sound. The two singers Angela van Rijthoven and Laureen Mobo join the show as guest stars. Together with Joe, they guide the audience through the program of this wonderful journey to Christmasland, full of energy, joie de vivre, and musical surprises.
