French Night - Castle Malberg

Schloss Malberg

8/30/26
6:00 PM

with soprano Corinne Brill and Carsten Braun, piano

The composer Carsten Braun, born in Simmern/Hunsrück, is especially known in the Bitburg area for his anti-war requiem "The Unknown War" and the musical "Genoveva" (Burgfestspiele Mayen). His further works range from chamber and church music to rock and electronic sounds. In 2025, he founded the duo Nebensonne with soprano Corinne Brill, which combines classical, folk, rock, and musical into a unique sound world. Their songs, mostly penned by Carsten Braun, tell of sadness, loss, loneliness, and death – but they always resonate with pathos, humor, and subtle social criticism. Corinne Brill's expressive, warm, and agile voice combines with Braun's colorful piano playing, making "Nebensonne" an intense and touching listening experience. www.nebensonne.com
