"Marius Preda is the only cimbalist in the world who can hold his own at a high level in the jazz world!
Dulcimer and jazz, is that possible? And how! Marius Preda was given a cimbalom by his grandmother when he was four years old. Since then he has spent days and nights learning the new instrument. Over the years he has become an incredibly virtuoso dulcimer player, brimming with virtuosity and joy of playing. With his strong sense of jazz language, Preda also adds elements of Latin jazz, salsa, Afro Cuban, Arabic and blues. But Marius Preda is not only a gifted cimbalist, he also wanted to get to know music in all its other facets. And so it happened that he learned piano, accordion, violin, vibraphone, double bass and last but not least the pan flute. Preda has worked with 10-time Grammy winner Arturo Sandoval, Miles Davis guitarist Mike Stern, Santana drummer Denis Chambers and many more. He was also a soloist in the famous Rosenberg Trio for many years. At Jazz am Hof Preda will also present himself as a multi-instrumentalist. Line up: Marius Preda - (cimbalom, piano, accordion, violin); Owen Hart Jr. - (drums); Joris Teepe - (bass)
The trio plays on Friday, November 19, 2021 in the ballroom of the Beda House, beginning at 8 pm. Admission 10/5 Euro.
