Ausstellungseröffnung "SIOLENCE"
Dec 1, 2025
Bitburg
“SIOLENCE” is a project by Soroptimist International Austria that impressively draws attention to an issue that affects us all: Violence against women. With expressive portraits, texts, and audio recordings, the stories of affected individuals are made visible, often remaining unheard. The name “SIOLENCE” stands for the silence that surrounds violence – and for the power to break that silence. The initiator, Petra Werkowits, gives a voice and a face to victims of violence.
The exhibition is a sign of solidarity with all women who have experienced violence, and at the same time a call to us as a society to look and take action. The fact that more than 6 million people have already visited the exhibition impressively shows the powerful impact and significance of this project.
We are very pleased to bring this important contribution to raising awareness to Bitburg and to celebrate the opening with you.
After the festive opening, we invite you to a small reception.
We kindly ask you to send your registration by November 20, 2025 to christel@bares-irrel.de or gleichstellung@bitburg-pruem.de.
